That’s it.
Glycine is an amino acid that tastes naturally sweet. So we let it do the work. No added sugar, and no other sweeteners: no cane sugar, no dextrose, no stevia, no sucralose. Just glycine, real citrus and, in ELEKT, electrolytes.
- Cane sugar
- Dextrose
- Stevia
- Sucralose
- Artificial sweeteners
Check the labels yourself.
Label: “No added sugar” and “Naturally sweetened by glycine.” Ingredients: glycine, magnesium malate, potassium chloride, sea salt, organic lemon juice powder and organic lime powder. No sweetener on the list.
Pouch: “No added sugar.” Ingredients: 6 g glycine + organic lemon juice powder. That’s the whole list, with no sweetener on it.
What the research found.
Glycine is the smallest amino acid, and your body puts it to work every night and every day. Here’s what published studies found, with links so you can read them yourself.
Supports sleep quality.†
In a randomized crossover study, 3 g of glycine before bed improved how people rated their sleep. Overnight recordings showed they reached sleep, and deep slow-wave sleep, faster, with normal sleep structure. The next day they were less sleepy and scored better on memory tasks. Animal research suggests one route: glycine helps lower core body temperature at night.
Supports next-day energy and recovery.†
When sleep was cut by 25% for three nights, people taking 3 g of glycine at bedtime reported significantly less next-day fatigue and did better on a vigilance test. A 2024 review of glycine for performance and recovery calls the evidence promising and asks for more human trials.
Supports collagen and connective tissue.†
Glycine is every third amino acid in collagen, the most abundant protein in the body. A metabolic analysis estimated that what adults make (about 3 g/day) plus a typical diet (1.5–3 g/day) may fall about 10 g/day short of the glycine the body uses. That is why researchers call glycine “semi-essential.”
A building block of glutathione.†
Glutathione, a key antioxidant your body makes itself, is built from three amino acids: glutamate, cysteine and glycine. Glycine also goes into creatine and heme. This is glycine-only science; we don’t cite GlyNAC (glycine + NAC) trials, because neither drink contains NAC.
Supports hydration.†
After a sweaty workout, drinks with more sodium were held onto better: urine output fell as sodium went up. In a 72-person trial, an electrolyte oral rehydration solution was retained better than still water over 4 hours. Each ELEKT serving has 600 mg sodium, 364 mg potassium, 200 mg magnesium and 540 mg chloride.
Plenty of glycine per serving.
The sleep studies above used 3 g of glycine. Every Glyconade stick has 6 g. Every ELEKT serving has 5 g. Glycine also tastes naturally sweet, so it does the sweetening too.
These studies tested glycine, or electrolyte drinks, on their own. They did not test Glyconade or ELEKT. We summarize them in plain language and link every source. † See the FDA disclaimer.
All ingredients third-party tested.
Every ingredient in Glyconade and ELEKT is third-party tested, and it says so right on the packaging. With ingredient lists this short, you can see everything we put in. No proprietary blends.

One sweetener.
It’s an amino acid.
Even mixes with little or no sugar list sweeteners like stevia or dextrose, plus “natural flavors.” Ours don’t. Here’s exactly what’s on each label.
Nothing to hide. Here’s every ingredient.
Glycine is an amino acid that tastes naturally sweet; PubChem lists its taste as “sweet.” So it’s the only sweetener we use. If you’d rather skip stevia, sucralose or sugar alcohols, there are none here.

Why we call out “natural flavors”: it’s a catch-all term on ingredient labels, and FDA labeling rules don’t require brands to list what goes into it. We don’t use it. Our flavor is lemon and lime you can read on the label.

Quick answers.
When does the drop open?
Saturday, October 31, 2026 at 10:21 AM ET, for Glyconade and ELEKT together.
Glyconade or ELEKT: what’s the difference?
Glyconade is 6 g glycine + organic lemon juice powder, a once-daily glycine lemonade. ELEKT is 5 g glycine plus magnesium, potassium, sodium and chloride in Lemon Lime, built for hydration. Both have the same glycine-first idea and no added sugar.
What does “sweetened only by glycine” mean?
Glycine naturally tastes sweet, so neither drink has added sugar or any other sweetener. ELEKT’s label says “naturally sweetened by glycine.” Glyconade’s ingredient list is just glycine and organic lemon juice powder.
Are they third-party tested?
Yes. All ingredients are third-party tested.
How do I mix them?
Glyconade: one stick in 8–12 oz of cold water, once daily. ELEKT: 1 stick, or 1 scoop (15.7 g) from the pouch, in 8–12 oz of cold water. Shake or stir until dissolved.
Where do you ship?
ELEKT ships to US addresses only. Questions about an order? Email themissingamino@gmail.com.
Do you sell wholesale?
Yes. See wholesale to request pricing.
